I may just have to go talk to one of my buddies who is pretty senior at Google for lunch today and pick his brain. Google and other search engines put more emphasis on original articles and exact duplicates can drag down rankings for each site that publishes the same article. So an option to avoid that is to write a similar article, but change it enough that the meaning is the same, but the words and content order are different enough that they wouldn't be considered identical. I just may never get the op to guest post for them again. It's definitely your right to turn down guest posts based on content... what other reasons would there be frankly. I'm really impressed with others who can always guest post and give away their work freely. I've had a couple guests posts myself, and I promote and love them to no end. Good luck in the hunt!
