Turbo Tax Deluxe Giveaway

by

It’s tax season folks, and if you haven’t filed your taxes yet, now is probably a good time to do so! But, if you don’t mind waiting another week or so to file, I have 2 copies of TurboTax Deluxe to give away.

Unless you are an accountant, use tax software or pay someone!

I have used TurboTax for the last 3 or 4 years, and in my opinion, TurboTax is a great way to get your taxes done quickly and efficiently. Last year, TurboTax software found several great deductions for me, and I ended up getting a larger return than I would have by doing my taxes without the software. Unfortunately, this year I owe over $1,100… but my tax situation changed dramatically, so I’ll save that for another story!

My Opinion of TurboTax

As I mentioned, I have used TurboTax software for the last several years, and I think it’s great. It has all the latest updates to the tax laws, and walks the user through the process step by step. The software is intuitive and prompts the user based on their inputs to certain questions. The interface is user friendly and easy to understand. For a more in depth review, check out SVB’s review of TurboTax.

Now for the free copies of TurboTax!

turbotax-deluxe.jpgI will be giving away 2 free copies of TurboTax Deluxe. Entry is easy! All you need to do is leave a comment stating what you will do with your economic stimulus rebate check or tax refund. If you aren’t getting either one of these – then tough luck! I’m joking! Just let me know what you would do with an extra $1,000 in your budget. The winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries.

Terms:

  • One entry per person, e-mail address, IP address, etc.
  • I am the sole judge of qualified entries and the winning entries.
  • Open to US residents only
  • The giveaway ends March 29th at 11:59 PM, Eastern Daylight Saving Time.
  • I will use a random number generator to select the 2 winners, and I will announce the winners on this website Sunday, March 30th.
  • The prizes are provided by a third party, and they will be shipped directly from the third party to the winner, so providing your address will be a condition of winning!
  • I know it is late in the tax season, but hopefully the winners will get these with plenty of time to spare! I can’t make any guarantees!

Do your taxes for free even if you don’t win!

If you miss out on the free copies of Turbo Tax Deluxe you can do your taxes for free with TurboTax Federal Free Edition today.

Good luck! :)

Well, I won’t technically be getting a stimulus check as I’m a dependent, but my parents decided to give me the $300 they’ll receive for me–and that’s almost a month’s rent! I have to make an extra payment in the summer to make up for my roommate making our entire deposit, and now I have windfall money to do it! Wahoo!! :)

Cool… Alas, our second child missed the cutoff by being born in 2008. I’ve been meaning to redo our powder room. With the extra cash from the economic stimulus…. :)

Well I am getting $600 back. I am putting half of it towards paying off debt. I am putting the other half towards my vacation to Vegas and Tucson in June. I am so excited! I haven’t had a vacation in so long.

It’s actually “only” $600, not a thousand. ;) I pride myself on living a balanced life, and there’s nothing I really need or want at this moment. I’ll most likely invest the money and hope my investment will grow faster than the inflation, which will no doubt be fueled by the addition of all this new money (1% of our GDP, if I’m not mistaken) to the economy. :)

Invest!!! This can be my “experiment” money to test out a new fund or other investment that I’m interested in and track it. Hopefully I end up in the green next December unlike this past year where a number of my investments were and still are in the red!!! =(

Thanks!!!

So I haven’t done my taxes yet, and was just thinking about picking up a copy of Turbo Tax…

And I will either be putting my stimulus check towards debt or towards my 2008 IRA. That sounds boring, doesn’t it! It wasn’t too long ago that extra money would go towards something frivolous. I suppose it’s better to be boring than broke, though, huh? :)

I’m going to have to pay about $1,800 in taxes due to a couple goofs my hubby made this year, so our stimulus check will go towards our central a/c fund since we will be raiding that to pay the taxes.

I’m going to get a tax refund (quite a big one) supposedly, but haven’t filed because I was going to max out the IRA’s before Apr 14th. But it looks like I won’t be able to do that after all, so both the refund and the stimulus check will go to knock out quite a few bills.

I’ve done my own taxes with TurboTax for the past 5 or 6 years and I love it. Unless you have some pretty complicated taxes (ie, businesses and special situations), TurboTax is the way to go.

We should be getting $1800.00 back and will use it to pay down our one remaining credit card balance!!! YEAH! I hope I win! Am I supposed to use the secret phrase somewhere in this comment? If so, Happy Birthday!!!
