I had a question. My husband is a marine, currently deployed to Iraq. I would like to take my daughter, my 2 sisters, my brother in law, and 3 nieces to Disneyland. How much would that ticket be? Also, my friend’s husband is also a marine with my husband, and she can’t afford a ticket, so I am going to get one for her. How much will all this cost me?

Hello Shannon, Thank you for contacting me. It’s difficult to give you a quick answer, so I wrote an article with more details. It can be found here: Take Advantage of the Free and Discounted Disney Tickets.

Thanks for your service and dedication to our country!

I am an active duty member and was wondering if my brother, his wife and kids would be able to get in the park with the “disney armed forces salute companion” ticket if given as a gift, and i was not present?

4 Patrick February 19, 2009 at 1:04 pm

Dave: to be honest, I am not sure. Thew military member has to be the person to physically purchase the tickets, but I do not know if he or she has to be present at the park. I’m sure they make some provisions in the even a military member is deployed. The best thing I can recommend is contacting Disney and asking them, or visiting your ITT or local base ticket agency and reading the fine print. Best of luck and thanks for serving! :)

hi! my husband and i are planning a trip to disney world. orlando FL.he is a marine active duty, and would like to know would the free 5 day ticket be for only himslef or also me.so would i have to purchase the 5 day ticket or do i also get in for free? if i do have to pay how much would it be for the 5 days?

6 Patrick February 22, 2009 at 10:38 pm

krystal: The free ticket is only for the active duty member, the additional tickets cost $99 each, plus $25 for access to all parks. Also, the Disney World tickets are only good for 3 days, the Disney Land tickets are good for 5 days, so you would have to pay for the additional two days out of pocket.

I hope that helps. Have fun at Disney World, and thanks for serving our country! :)

Hello. My husband and are planning a trip to disneyland in about a week. Where do we go to get the ticket? I know we get it once we’re there but which box office(is there a certain one?)

8 Patrick March 3, 2009 at 11:08 pm

Hello Kerri, You will need to check with your base Services organization, or the location on base where you can buy discounted tickets – called Information Tickets & Tours, or ITT, on Air Force bases. I don’t know what it is called for the other services. If that doesn’t work, try contacting Disney for more information. Good luck, and have a great time!

Hi, My husband is transfering on PCS orders to California in August. We would like to take advantage of the Disneyland offer but it expires in June, Is there another way to take advantage of this offer?

10 Patrick March 10, 2009 at 1:08 pm

Cheri: I’m not sure if there is any way to take advantage of the free and discounted tickets at Disneyland once the offer expires. The offer is longer for the Disney World tickets, but if that is not close to where you are, I don’t know what to say. My recommendation would be to call Disney and see if they might offer you a similar deal or another discount. It can’t hurt to try!

All,
I have attached a copy of the Disney World information site about the companion tickets. This blog indicates that the tickets are for THREE days to Disney World but the website says FIVE.

Hi, im currently serving active duty in the marines and I’m deployed in Iraq at the moment. I was wanting to plann a trip with my family to Disney Land but im not sure if i will be home before next year. I saw that the free tickets expire at the end of the year. I was wondering is this something you do every year or this year only?

13 Patrick April 7, 2009 at 9:24 am

Elliot: First, thanks for serving our country. What you are doing is awesome! This is the first time I have seen this deal offered, but that doesn’t mean that Disney won’t offer it again next year. Hopefully they will.

If you aren’t able to take advantage of the free tickets to Disney offer, you may be able to take advantage of the free admission to Anheuser-Busch Adventure Parks for military members . This offer is available every year. Best of luck, and thanks for serving!

Does this offer extend to firefighters and law enforcement personnel in California? They used to extend free admissions in the past few years. Anyone know before I go? Thanks.

15 Patrick May 9, 2009 at 11:35 am

James: This particular offer does not extend to anyone other than active duty military, so far as I know. However, there may be other offers in place for firefighters and/or law enforcement personnel. You may wish to call Disney for more information. Thanks for your service. :)

Thanks Patrick, it feels good knowing there are people out there who appreciates us for what we do on a daily basis. Is there a specific phone number for me to get in contact with someone at Disneyland? Thanks.
