If you own a credit card with a high interest rate, and can’t seem to get away from large interest payments month in and month out, your best option may be to transfer that balance from your current credit card, to one with a 0% balance transfer offer. 0% balance transfer credit cards will gladly absorb your current debt on other credit cards and allow you to make payments interest free for a disclosed amount of time. Citi® Platinum Select® Visa® Card Review

The Citi® Platinum Select® Visa® Card does not carry an annual fee, so owning this card year in and year out will never cost you anything. However, if you do decide to transfer a balance, you will incur a 3% balance transfer fee, with a $5 minimum. How do 0% balance transfers work? The Citi® Platinum Select® Visa® Card intro rate on balance transfers of 0% for 18 months means that as a card user, I can transfer the balance from another credit card to my new Citi® Platinum Select® Visa® Card and make interest free payments for 18 full months. How much can a 0% balance transfer save you? Let’s say for example, you have a $5,000 balance on another credit card. Transferring the balance to your new Citi® Platinum Select® Visa® Card will cost you $150.  Your new credit card balance would now be $5,150 and you have 18 months to pay off the balance without paying any interest. To further this example, had you only been making the minimum payments on your old credit card (assuming a 20% interest rate), in 18 months you would have racked up over $1,000 in interest, meaning the Citi Platinum Select Visa can save you well over $1,000. 0% Into on new purchases: The Citi® Platinum Select® Visa® Card also offers a 0% Intro APR on purchases for 18months. After that, the APR will be 11.99%-21.99% based upon your creditworthiness. Other card benefits. Last but not least, there is a rewards program included with this card, however, unlike the ThankYou® Network, points earned on your card can only be redeemed for discounts, not cash, travel or merchandise. Who is this credit card for? This card shines for 0% balance transfers and intro rates on purchases. If you have a large credit card balance with a high interest rate, or if you plan on making a large purchases and want some time to pay it off at 0% interest, then you should consider this card as the 0% intro rates are among the best in the industry.
