A Citi student credit card was my first card way back in 1986. Actually, they rejected my first application; not sure why. But eventually I got the card and avoided going into debt. Always paid the card off in full each month. The result was I got a great start on building credit. Back then, though, the card companies didn’t have nearly the rewards they do today, and the promotions above would have been great. I guess I’m just showing my age.
