$5 Live Nation Concert Lawn Tickets for Citi Cardholders

by Patrick on August 5, 2009

Looking for some summer fun? How about $5 Lawn Tickets to some of the season’s hottest concerts? Live Nation is partnering with the Citi Private Pass program for a Summer of Savings promotion, offering Citi cardholders the chance to get $5 lawn seats to see performances by artists such as blink-182, Nickelback, Cruefest (Motley Crue and friends), Depeche Mode, Brian Wilson (of Beach Boys fame), The Black Crows, Mos Def, Collective Soul, and more. Here is the entire list of $5 concerts.

I saw The Black Crows a couple weeks ago and paid $30 for my lawn tickets. It was worth it, but I would have preferred to pay $5!

How to get the $5 tickets: People who have a Citi debit or credit card can go to www.citiprivatepass.com to get an access code to buy the $5 tickets. The promotional code will be “CITI” plus the first two digits of your Citi card. The promotion is running from July 1st to August 31st.

Other benefits of Citi Private Pass: The Citi Private Pass program lets Citi cardholders get access to music, sports, dining and other events. You can get access to the program by having a Citi credit card or a Citi bank account.

This is a great offer, just wish they made the site easier to navigate and find concerts for your area. Nothing coming near me that I want to see but good deals either way.

You can get the same deal even if you don’t have a Citi Card by buying selected $5 footlongs at Subway. http://www.subwayfreshbuzz.com/livenation/

What happens if you buy your footlong with a Citi card?

The only problem is the fees. I looked at this a while back and fees more than tripled the cost. Yes, $15-20 per ticket isn’t a ton, but still far from $5. Odds are you aren’t going alone either.

Wow, I wasn’t aware of the high fees… I hate how these places tack on so many fees – TicketMaster is probably the worst in that regard. I try to go to the venue to buy tickets when it is convenient. You can often save $10+ per ticket when you do it that way.
