Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! Since my wife and I are expecting our first child, Mother’s Day is taking on a whole new meaning this year. And I love it! Thanks for mentioning my post to your readers! How far along is your wife? My first child was born in April and that first Mother’s Day was so special. Congratulations to the two of you – what a blessing!
For the first few weeks, you really won’t need much. It’s a great time to gauge what you really need. I suggest starting with a pack of newborn diapers (only 1 since you may end up not liking the brand), a pack of baby wipes, a changing pad (you don’t need a table right away – any flat surface will work for now), season-appropriate clothes, blankets, and cloth diapers for rags/burp cloths. I think your philosophy of starting small and adding what you discover you need is the best way to go. Good luck!
