Dave: You can transfer your current blog from Blogger to another blogging platform and host it at LunarPages. You shouldn't lose anything in the process.

I have never personally transferred a Blogger blog to another platform (I use WordPress for my blogs), but from what I understand, the process is very straightforward. You can do a quick Google search to find the instructions.

Using a self-hosted blogging platform like WordPress will give you more flexibility in the long run. If the import process is too difficult to understand, I can point you to a blogging consultant who may be able to help you - of course you would need to negotiate the details.

I started my first blog at Boots n'All's travel website, and then opened version 2.0 a year later over at Blogger.

I bought the domain name at Godaddy through Google about a year ago, and am interested in starting version 3.0 now, perhaps at a different site. The blog is in need of an overhaul. So, that said, a few questions...

How does one import/migrate a blog to a new site? I'd like to be able to have one site with all of the entries archived.

Looking at Lunarpages registration site, it has an option for if you already have a domain name...what if it is already a website? If I register, will that interfere with the one I already have?

Perhaps stupid questions, but I do want to upgrade, but not at the expense of losing everything I already have.

Thanks for the insight.

I use the hosting service with Godaddy since I bought the domain there, figured it was easier and recommend them. Their customer service is the best of any company I have seen lately.c

Mrs. Accountability: I love LunarPages too - I think it is the best hosting option for most blogs (until you need a dedicated server, at which point there may be better options).

Congrats on the transition - I hope it makes your life easier! :)

I just signed up with LunarPages over the weekend and had my blog migrated from Blogger over to Wordpress. Loving Wordpress so much and also very thrilled that LunarPages has c-panel!! So much easier and user friendly than other control panels I've had to work with. Moving all my sites over to my LunarPages since they also allow multiple site hosting, yes!
