I also agree that decent health insurance should be available through means other than an employer, but there's nothing in this bill that will address that. And there shouldn't be - health insurance and "stimulating" the economy are two different issues. They should be handled separately.

Bernz, I agree 100%. People shouldn't have to rely on their employer to subsidize health care to make it affordable. That makes it increasingly difficult to be self employed or run a small business.

These are a must do list for the new President, but for my own personal issues presently, the most important for me is Health Care Reform. Health Insurance and Health Care cost are both getting out of control. It's getting more and more expensive to get well in the United States nowadays.

Whenever the federal government meddles in the economy, it typically creates more bureaucracy, inefficiency, and pork spending than actual improvement.
Speaking of bureaucracy and pork, check out the following link to see where the $825 billion of the so-called American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will be allocated to:
http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=42138
I don't see much "hope" and "change" here. All I see is the continued expansion and control of the gov at the taxpayers' expense.

That's quite the list, and not even including foreign policies like the events in Gaza now or war efforts. He evens admits now that there are hard times ahead, and it's a long process. How long do you think it could be still any of his plans actually lead to some kind of improvement?

I totally agree with you about how health care, alternative energy and the reinvestment plan need to be implemented. The real test, though, is whether he get can Congress to get it done in an intelligent manner that doesn't include a great deal of unnecessary pork and waste.
