Get Free Professional Tax and Investment Advice From TurboTax and Kiplinger’s

by Ryan on January 15, 2009

Two well known and well respected financial companies are sponsoring free Q&A sessions with tax and financial professionals during the month of January.

Jumpstart Your Retirement Plan Days

This is the eighth year that Kiplinger’s magazine, along with National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), have joined forces for the Jumpstart Your Retirement Plan Days program. During this program, fee only financial planners will be on hand to answer your financial and investing questions. Here is more information from their press release:

On Tuesday, January 13th and Friday, January 30th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, NAPFA members across the country will be standing by to answer your financial questions. Normally these Fee-Only planners, well versed in investments, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and saving for college and retirement, charge clients $150 to $300 an hour. But, during Jump-Start Days, their expertise is free. Just dial toll-free 888-919-2345 or log on to www.kiplinger.com/links/jumpstart/ anytime from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time on January 13th or January 30th to participate in an online discussion with an advisor.

The first session was this past Tuesday; my apologies for not posting this sooner! However, there is still time to prepare for the next session on the 30th, or to prepare a tax question for TurboTax (see below).

Free Tax Advice from TurboTax

Do you have tax questions? The makers of TurboTax are sponsoring a month long promotion where you can “ask the tax pro” any question about your federal taxes and receive a free 20 minute consultation. This is normally a $29.95 value.

To take advantage of this offer, all you need to do is visit www.FreeTaxQuestion.com and leave your name, phone number, question, and a good time to call you, and the tax expert will return your call within 24 hours. This offer is available until January 31st.

Haven’t started your taxes yet? Here is more information about how to file your 2008 Federal Taxes for free.

Be sure to take advantage of these excellent opportunities!
