Great post! And good information. Almost makes me wish I’d waited a year before forming my LLC. Anyway, I’ve seen the tax benefits of my LLC over my sole proprietorship, and it has definitely been a good thing for me.
I agree, Miranda. I also plan on opening a self employed 401(k) plan, which is a great way to save for retirement and shelter some income from taxes.
This is the best! I just did it and I got an LLC for FREE! …it’s the greatest thing ever. How do they do it? I also ordered this service – IncGuard – that tells me when I need to file what throughout the year, and gives me free sample documents, including a Nolo book on getting an LLC started.

They’r extending the offer through December. How do they do that? It’s free incorporations & LLCs through December- is that possible?
