Hurricane Ike struck Texas with a fury this weekend and I want to extend my thoughts and prayers to everyone out there who was affected. I grew up in a town between Houston and Galveston, which is the area that was hardest hit by the hurricane. My family (including my parents) and friends that still live in the area were able to evacuate safely, but I am sure some of them experienced damage to their homes and belongings. Thankfully, things can be replaced. Lives cannot. I wish everyone out there the best during the coming weeks. There is a big mess to clean up, and I know it isn’t going to be easy.
