Netflix Free Trial Offer

by Patrick on June 20, 2008

Two weeks ago I wrote about the Blockbuster Total Access free trial offer which is currently still available. Luckily, I found a similar offer from Netflix. The main difference between the two offers is the Netflix offer is a two week trial offer, and the Blockbuster Total Access free trial is a month. But they are both free, and that’s what matters!

Netflix Details

Like Blockbuster Total Access, Netflix sends subscribers movie rentals in the order they select them from their movie library of over 100,000 DVD titles. Netflix has over 100 shipping points nationwide, so you should expect to receive your movies in about one business day. (Netflix has a 95% fill rate within one business day)!

In addition to receiving DVDs by mail, you can watch movies online instantly. This feature is included in your Netflix membership at no extra charge.

Netflix Free Trial Offer Details

This free trial is only available to new customers, but you may be able to put the plan in a spouse’s name to get another trial if you have used Netflix before and have since canceled the service. The best part is - you don’t need a coupon code to take advantage of this deal!

Note: To take advantage of this offer, you need to go to the Netflix site and sign up for one of their subscription plans. The lowest plan starts at $4.99 per month. Your free trial begins immediately and you won’t pay anything if you cancel before the two week trial period ends. If you wait too long, you will automatically enter the subscription plan you selected. But there is no long term commitment and you can cancel at any time.

Netflix or Blockbuster?

I wrote a full Blockbuster vs. Netflix review which outlines the pros and cons to each plan. But why not try them both for free? You can get two weeks of Netflix, then follow that up with a full month of Blockbuster Total Access! As long as you cancel before the trial periods end, you won’t pay anything. If you do cancel, you can rest assured both Blockbuster and Netflix will send you coupons to try and keep you as a customer. If you work it right, you can get free movies all summer!

John: Thanks for the comment. From what I understand, the two week trial is free, but on the condition you sign up for a subscription. All you need to do is cancel before the trial membership is over, or continue with your subscription if you want to keep using Netflix.
