Weekly Roundup - Vacation Edition
By Patrick on Jun 8, 2008 in Personal Finance
Hello Everyone, my wife and I are currently on vacation in TX to visit family and see my little sister graduate high school. It’s nice to take a few days off work - even though I just started the new job.
Speaking of vacations, the M-Network members recently wrote a series on vacations. Check out the M-Network Vacation Guide for great tips on how to maximize your vacation, and hopefully save some money!
So far we went out and bought a bunch of water guns and had a massive water fight, saw my sister graduate high school, BBQ’d a brisket, and visited with friends and family. We’re going to an Astros/Cardinals game today, which is a huge rivalry, and we have a sky diving excursion planned for early next week. I’ll be sure to let you know how that goes!
I’m a little behind on my reading, but here are a few articles that stood out this week:
- The M-Network Vacation Guide was written by all the members of the M-Network.
- David from My Tow Dollars has some great resources for saving money on travel. David also has another website, The Good Human, and he recommends reusable water bottles. I think it is a great idea - better for you and better for the environment… Win-win!
- Pinyo wrote about Insurance Coverage and Opportunity Cost.
- Plonkee Money asks the question, “the credit crisis: am I missing something?”
- Being Frugal has some great tips about frugal vacation ideas.
- Mrs. Micah has a new definition for return on investment.
- Single Guy Money is giving away a $75 gas card to celebrate his one year anniversary.
This week’s carnivals:
- The inaugural Carnival of Careers was hosted by Brip Blap. My article, No, I Won’t Accept Your Counter Offer, was included.
- The Money Hacks Carnival #15 - French Open Edition was hosted at Broke Grad Student. My article, How to Improve Your Credit Score, was included.
Have a great week everyone! ![]()

Thanks, Patrick! I’m just hoping everyone will start to think of ROI and lingerie together.
