I want to thank everyone who participated in making the First Carnival of Financial Goals a success! The Carnival of Financial Goals had 55 participants, and more than 60 people left comments with their financial resolutions for 2008. iPod Entries: Each participant in the Carnival of Financial Goals and over 60 commenters were entered into the iPod drawing. The odds of winning the iPod were roughly 1 in 100. Not bad odds for a free shot at a 4GB iPod nano!

There were 34 entries in the book giveaway. The giveaway required participants to subscribe to my free RSS or e-mail feed and contact me with the “secret phrase” which was “Book Contest.” That’s it! Simple! I hope each of the subscribers continues to enjoy my daily updates! The 3 books I am giving away are: 100 Minds That Made The Market, The Maui Millionaires for Business, and The Little Book That Makes You Rich. A 1 in 11 chance of winning is pretty good!

Selecting the winners: The winners were selected with a random number generator from the website Psychic Science. To verify and label entries, I placed each valid entry in an Excel spreadsheet, assigned it a number, and then “rolled the virtual dice” so to speak. This was the easiest way to run the giveaway as I had entries coming in from multiple sources.
