Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, and I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday. My wife and I had a great time visiting family. We spend Black Friday on the road coming home from our visit with family - but we wouldn’t have gone shopping anyway.

Here are a few of my favorite articles during the last week.

• Clever Dude - Black Friday and Buying Out of Budget. This is a great article about sticking to your budget and avoiding the temptation of Black Friday Deals. There are some solid points made in this article. Self control may not always be easy, but it is almost always rewarding.
• Million Dollar Journey - How Call Options Work 1 - The Basics. This is the intro article to a great series about how Stock call options work. This is great info for anyone wanting to learn how trading works.
• Blueprint For Financial Prosperity - PFNerd Gift Idea: US Savings Bond Paper Certificate. I was given savings bonds when I was a kid, and I later cashed them in around the time I went to college.
• Get Rich Slowly - The Hidden Costs of Stuff. This article is not just about the actual dollar amount that things cost, but the toll physical objects can take on your mind - especially things like clutter, objects you no longer use, and the associated freedoms of not having to put up with too much stuff!
• Grad Money Matters - The Ten Commandments of Black Friday Shopping. Consumerism at its best… or worst! The best and most important Commandment is #10.
• My Two Dollars - You Think You Have Money Problems? Try Visiting Mexico… I traveled extensively when I was in the USAF and saw a lot of places that made me realize how much most Americans take the US for granted. I have a great appreciation for our country and the freedoms and wealth we enjoy. I wish more people could experience an international trip to a less fortunate destination to see just how good we have it compared to the rest of the world.
