Contest - Win a Free Book and Tacos!!!

by Patrick on November 14, 2007

I believe entrepreneurship is the backbone of America’s economy and a huge part of what makes our nation so wonderful. To celebrate entrepreneurship, I am giving away a copy of The Engine of America, a book about the secrets of building a successful small business.

As part of my goal to highlight entrepreneurship, I interviewed Chris Miller, the co-owner of Tiger Taco. Chris shared some great information about the process of starting a business with his friend George. The interview is very informative and a lot of fun. To help me celebrate entrepreneurship, Chris and George offered to give away free Tiger Tacos!

Wait a minute? How do you give away tacos over the internet? Great question! These aren’t just normal tacos, they are Tiger Tacos!

What the heck are Tiger Tacos? Another great question! Tiger Tacos are a recent invention and product that… You know what? It’s easier if I show you. Watch the video, then be sure to keep reading because I will tell you how to win some Tiger Tacos or a very good book for the budding entrepreneur.

Tiger Taco Video

(you may have to click through if you are reading this via a feedreader):

Hey those Tiger Tacos look pretty useful! Where can I get some of those? I know, they look pretty sweet! Keep reading, and I will tell you how you might be able to win some for free!

The Engine of AmericaDidn’t you mention a book? How astute of you! Yes, there is another prize as well - a copy of The Engine of America, which I reviewed earlier this month. This great book was written by the former Administrator of the Small Business Administration, Hector Barreto, and it covers the ins and outs of starting a small business in the US. Not only does the book contain a lot of great information, but it contains a lot of very good anecdotes from successful entrepreneurs. I recommend it to anyone considering starting their own small business.

That sounds great. How do I enter? It’s simple! There are actually two ways to enter, and you can double your chances of winning by entering both ways:

  1. Leave a comment in this post. Be sure to leave a valid e-mail address so I can inform you if you have won the prize.
  2. Send me an e-mail with the secret phrase as the subject. What is the secret phrase? The secret phrase is included in the footer of my RSS Feed or e-mail subscription. Read this link for more information about how to subscribe if you are not familiar with it. You can e-mail me via my contact form.

Ahhh sneaky. You want me to sign up for a subscription to your website. Yes. Yes I do. Not only will you get free daily updates from my website via your feedreader or via e-mail, you will be entered into this contest if you send me an e-mail with the secret phrase as the subject.

So what stops me from subscribing, entering your contest, then unsubscribing? Nothing! However… I will be giving away an iPod later this month, and I have a strong suspicion that you will want to be a subscriber when I have that giveaway! ;)

Prizes, Rules, and other fun stuff:

  • There will be 3 prizes awarded - 1 copy of The Engine of America, 1 person will be awarded 2 (two) sets of Steel Tiger Tacos, and 1 person will be awarded 2 (two) sets of Plastic Tiger Tacos.
  • You must submit a valid e-mail address to enter (otherwise I cannot contact you!)
  • Entries must be received by Monday, Mon. 19th. Winners will be notified via e-mail.
  • Due to shipping concerns, winners will be limited to the US and Canada. Future contests may be open to other locations.
  • No purchase necessary; the odds of winning depend on the number of entrants; void where prohibited; and all that jazz.
  • Good luck. And remember, if you win the Tiger Tacos… don’t eat them! ;)

NOTE: This contest has concluded. Thank you to everyone who participated. :)

The video didn’t work on your site, but I went to their site to see the video. It’s very funny and the invention is quite ingenious.

I am glad you got the chance to meet with these guys and talk to them. I love to be an inventor, but people keep beating me to the punch.

For instance, I have conceptually invented heated steering wheel, the little stub that some laptop use as pointing device, and heating side view mirror before they even came out.

What a brilliant idea. I’ve always weighted box lids down with something if they’re getting in the way, but this is much smarter, not to mention more lucrative. Good for them.

Loved the video. How very clever and how many times I could have used those! My body has had a lot of birthdays and needs to slow down. Unfortunately, I’m not one who discovered frugality early in life and now need to work into my “retirement” years to pay down debts. I really want to start a business of my own, but don’t know where to start. The Engine of America could help a great deal.

Ok, I loved that video! And Tiger Tacos was not what I was expecting at all. We are moving yet again, and I’ve already started packing-those things would get put to great use here in my house.
Enter me please.

Plonkee — checkout TigerTaco.co.uk (they saw the movie and think it will be fun for you guys over there; they are purple so it’s kind of weird). Send Patrick your delivery address in the UK and I’ll make sure you get a few sets when they get there in December.

Brip Blap — we have prototypes we made called the Cheetah (versions with circle holes and divots) but it was like a cheese grater for fingers =8^)
