Weekly Roundup - Stumbling Along Edition
By Patrick on Oct 20, 2007 in Personal Finance
This week was a busy week at work for me. In fact, I ended up sitting at my computer until 9pm Friday night just so I could finish everything before the weekend hit. Fun, I know… It felt like I was stumbling along all week. So, I decided to keep stumbling.
I think all of the articles listed here are good enough to share with my readers, and I decided not to stop there. I submitted each of them to StumbleUpon if they weren’t already submitted. Hopefully they got more attention than they otherwise would have. Thanks for the good reads, and I hope everyone enjoys these great articles.
Here are my favorite articles from the blogging world this week.
- Save Money By Making Your Own Beer - Lazy Man and Money. I tried this once. It didn’t turn out great, but it was wonderful for cooking bratwurst!
- Are You in the Financial Loop? - Clever Dude. This is a great article that everyone who shares any financial accounts with anyone else should read.
- Five Fabulous-Paying Jobs That Anyone Can Do - Except They’re Totally Illegal - Punny Money. Some may require no conscience, but hey, at least you get the cash, right?
- How to Avoid Getting Ripped Off By Your Landlord - Dimes to Dollars. This is definitely important information for those who rent. My parents got ripped off by a landlord, and I know several others who have as well.
- Money Vs. Time Off: Why We Don’t Take Vacations - The Digerati Life. Vacations are wonderful!
- Is A Dollar Always A Dollar? - My Money Blog. The psychology behind spending. For many people, the answer is no.
- Got Passed Up For Promotion - Now What? - Money and Such: There is a lot of great career advice in this post.
- Afternoon Brain Snack: Stripper Edition - Mrs. Micah. This is just as interesting as the title. Who would have thought strippers were an afternoon brain snack?
- Got Military? Get Access to the Best Bank in the Nation - Millionster. USAA is my favorite bank, though I hesitate to call them just a bank. They also offer insurance, investments, credit cards, loans, mortgages, and more. They also have the best customer service of any financial institution I have ever dealt with. Find out if you are eligible to be a USAA Member.
This Week’s Carnivals that I participated in:
- Carnival of Personal Finance.
- Carnival of Debt Reduction.
- Carnival of Money Stories.
- Carnival of Debt Management.
- Festival of Frugality.
