110th Edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance
By Patrick on Jul 23, 2007 in Announcements
The 110th Carnival of Personal Finance is hosted by Fat Pitch Financials this week. One of my recent articles, Earn $10 Million By Not Building Model Trains, was included in this week’s edition. My article was a tongue in cheek response to an article How to Earn $1 Million By Not Watching TV, which was published on-line by TheStreet.com. The author of the article, Jeffrey Strain, is also the owner of Saving Advice, another personal finance blog.
Here are some of my favorites from this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance:
- Saving Advice - How Dumping TV Allowed Me to Quit My Job, Create an Online Business and Fund My Retirement Account. This article is closely related to How to Earn $1 Million By Not Watching TV, but I think this article is much more inspirational and realistic. The focus of this article is to increase your focus and personal productivity.
- Blunt Money - Getting Rid of Financial Junk. How to simplify your financial life. This is something I need to do! I keep signing up for that free money for opening new accounts. $25, $50, $100 here and there adds up, but then you have to remember to close out the account!
- Personal Finance Math - Calculate Your Average Tax Rate. Many people think that because you are in a certain tax bracket, all of your money is taxed at that rate. Not so! Read here to find out the effective tax rate.
Check out this week’s Carnival for many more great articles!
