Happy Father’s Day to all the father’s out there. My father is a great man and he has taught me a lot about life. In fact, the reason I save and invest is because I listened to my father talk about how he wished he had started sooner – he didn’t start until his early 30’s. He has since made great strides to catch up and he and my mother seem to be doing well.
Right before I joined the Air Force, I took $1,000 of my savings from part-time work as a high schooler and invested it in an IRA. I figured I would have a full-time job that would pay me enough for the present so I should start saving for the future. I haven’t stopped saving and investing since. Thanks, Dad, for teaching me to save, and for everything else!
