A Memorial Day Observation

by Ryan on May 28, 2007

Memorial Day is a day to recognize all the men and women who have contributed to our freedom by serving in our country’s military. I would like to extend a very sincere “thank you” to all the men and women who have served our country.

In addition, I would like to thank all of the family members of those who serve or have served. In church yesterday, the pastor asked veterans of each individual service to stand and remain standing. With all the veterans still standing, he asked all mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, sons, and daughters of veterans to stand. There were very few people still seated after this. It was a great reminder to everyone that even if they have not served, they are most likely very close to someone who has.

Thank you all.
