Thanks to Golbguru at Money, Matter, and More Musings for hosting this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance! Golbguru was kind enough to include one of my recent posts, Spring Cleaning Saves Money!
Golbguru did a great job of organizing the posts into a very easy to read format and included a brief synopsis of each post. A lot of work went into it, and it was well worth it for all participants!
Here are a few of my favorite selections this week:
- The Digerati Life - 5 Money and Currency Facts Your History Teacher Never Told You. Here is a great post with interesting money trivia and historical facts – from the $2 bill to the $100,000 bill, the history of the dollar sign and more. Check it out!
- The Coin Jar - My Daughter’s Millionaire Dreams Aren’t Far From Reality. CJ’s daughter is a 19 year old college student who has already started out on her path to financial freedom. She has started a Roth IRA and plans to continue investing. With time on her side, I’m sure she will make it!
- Five Cent Nickel - Playing the Percentages: The Effects of Gains and Losses. “If you start with $100 and lose 50%, you’re down to just $50. Now, if you gain 50%, you’re only back up to $75.” This is an important article to read to make sure you understand some of the principles behind investing.
There are literally dozens more great posts, so be sure to check out this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance!
