Postage Increase – May 14

by Patrick on March 20, 2007

Well, it’s official folks. The US Post Office has announced the rate hikes agreed to in February will officially increase May 14. The big change that will affect most people is a 2 cent increase in the standard first class stamp, and an increase in the cost to mail magazines and catalogues. (Don’t think you won’t see the increase!)

The best part of the new process is the ‘forever’ stamp, which does not have a face value and will be valid forever, including when postal rates increase in the future.

Does that mean you should go out and buy hundreds of them when they go on sale next month? No way! You should wait until the next postal rate increase is announced and buy a bunch of them then. Keep your money working for you in the mean time!
